- BREAD-Indian Bread tortillas
- (can freeze dough)
- 4 c flour
- 2 tb pwd milk
- 2 tb baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tb shortening (Crisco)
- 1 1/2 c warm water
- mix shortening in flour and add rest of ingred.
- Mix until it is elastic. Knead, not stiff.
- Roll into balls like dinner rolls. Put rolls in bowl and cover with damp cloth.
- Take one out at a time and rollout. Deep fry in small pan. Oil hot just before smoking. (med-high)
- Great to use as tortilla for taco salad.
- Can butter with cinn-sugar/jam
