Hummingbird Cake

Step 1 Prepare the Cake Layers: Preheat oven to 350°F
- 3 cups all-purpose flour, plus more for pans
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 3 large eggs, beaten
- 1 1/2 cups vegetable oil
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 (8-oz.) can crushed pineapple in juice, undrained
- 2 cups chopped ripe bananas (about 3 bananas)
- 1 cup chopped pecans, toasted Vegetable shortening
- CREAM CHEESE FROSTING
- 2 (8-oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup salted butter or margarine, softened
- 2 (16-oz.) pkg. powdered sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- ADDITIONAL INGREDIENT
- 3/4 cup pecan halves, toasted

- 3 tbsp. Sea salt (1.5% weight to cabbage)

A simple, quick and versatile dish
- • 4 nests tagliatelle pasta
- • 1 tbsp oil
- • 2 small onions, cut into wedges
- • 1-2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
- • 1 zucchini, diced
- • 2 yellow peppers, diced
- • 15 oz can tomato, diced
- • 1 cup vegetable stock
- • 4 tbsp cream cheese
- • 1 tbsp tomato paste
- • 1 tbsp dried mixed herbs
- • 1 tbsp cornstarch, mixed with 2 tbls cold water (if needed)
- • thyme for garnish

- 1 stick butter, room temperature
- 1/2 cup vegetable shortening
- 1/2 cup pumpkin puree
- 1 tsp pumpkin pie spice
- 5-7 cups powdered sugar
Spiced Cabernet Wine

- 1 (3000 ml) box Cabernet Sauvignon
- 1 C sugar plus more if needed
- 15 whole cloves
- 2 small or 1 large cinnamon stick
- 1 naval orange

I love this recipe, it's easy to make and so delicious to drink! I think this is my favorite recipe
- 1 bottle (750 ML) of a Merlot, Zin or Cab, a medium bodied wine which ever you prefer ( a fruit wine can also be used)
- 1 lemon, cut into wedges
- 1 orange, sliced
- 2 TBLS sugar
- 1 shot rum
- 2-3 cups club soda or ginger ale
- Additional fruit to add is your choice: diced apples, blueberries, strawberries kiwi, peaches, raspberries or pears

- 1 pound boneless skinless chicken breasts
- 1/2 cup reduced-fat mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon finely chopped red onion
- 1 teaspoon dill weed
- 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
- 24 slices soft multigrain bread, crusts removed
- 1 medium cucumber, thinly sliced
- 1/4 medium cantaloupe, cut into 12 thin slices

- Herb Rub:
- 2 lbs boneless sirloin steak
- 1 1/2 tsp fennel seed, crushed
- 2 tsp oregano
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp pepper
- 1/2 /tsp ground red pepper
- Fettuccini:
- 1 lb fettuccine, cook as per pkg instructions
- 2 Tbls butter
- 1/4 C minced garlic ( about 6 cloves)
- 1/2 C Parmesan cheese, grated (or Asiago)
- 1/2 red onion, finely chopped
