It's news to me. Today I made fried fish in batter

  • Here's my batter:
  • It's news to me. Today I made fried fish in batter. Oh it was
  • so good with home made mayo (we are so fortunate to have LC)
  • I just seasoned the fish on each side with things we like.
  • Put CarbQuick in a bowl, add seasonings (not salt), pour LC beer
  • into it until it's the right thickness. It bubbles up and becomes very
  • light right away. Have your hot oil ready, dip fish, fry a few minutes
  • on each side depending upon how thick your fish is.
  • Have coleslaw and eat it. Boy we were in fried fish heaven

Really Good Hot Cereal

Really Good Hot Cereal

By

  • Here is my tweaked recipe:
  • REALLY GOOD HOT CEREAL!
  • --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  • This makes an AMAZING hot cereal and it's sooooo good for these cold days we are having! VERY LC, too and it makes a large bowl of cereal. I usually only make 1/2 the recipe and I'm full for hours!
  • The original recipe is from 4furbabies (thank you!) and I have tweaked it to make it lower carbed than the original. You can find the original on this thread: Found a favorite recipe!
  • Hot Cereal Recipe:
  • Ingredients:
  • 2 1/2 cups flax meal
  • 1 1/2 cup wheat bran
  • 6 scoops vanilla protein powder (I use a unflavored PP with .5g carbs per scoop and add 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract or other extract flavor of your choice.
  • nuts (optional)..... I didn't figure these into the carb count so please adjust accordingly.
  • Directions for Cooking:
  • 1/2 cup cereal
  • 1/2 cup water or coconut milk or HWC thinned with water (about 1/4 cup HWC and 1/4 cup water).
  • Mix all together in a bowl.
  • Microwave on high 30 seconds to 1 minute, stirring once in the middle of cooking, but not longer because it starts to bake like a 1 minute muffin).
  • And when done cooking I add:
  • splash of cream
  • pat of butter
  • A splash of DaVinci's or a drop or 2 of liquid Splenda
  • dash of cinnamon
  • 1 serving is 186 Calories, 1.12g Carbs, and 16.96g Protein

  • The first one sounds delish, I want to try it!
  • My favorite recipe is the latest one I tried
  • 6 c. broccoli florets
  • 1.5 c. HWC
  • 1 8oz pkg of cream cheese
  • 1 medium bag of shredded cheese
  • 1/2 c water
  • 4 bullion cubes
  • makes approx 8 cups - i only eat .5 cup at a time, it plenty.
  • Cook broccoli, mix other (minus cheese and bullion cubes) ingredients in a food processor until smooth, then blend in broccoli. Put on stove and let simmer on medium heat, add cheese. Simmer until cheese is melted.
  • This is the BEST LC recipe i've ever had. My mom (whos also LC) swears by it. lol
