Linguini with Italian Sausage and Peppers

- 10 oz. linguini
- 1 lb. Italian sausage
- 1 onion chopped
- 2 green, yellow, or red peppers cut into thin strips
- 1 can diced tomatoes
- 1 can (6 oz.) Italian Paste with Italian Seasonings
- grated Parmesan or Romano cheese

- 6 Tbl. chopped fresh basil

- 1/2 cup packed dark brown sugar
- 2 Tbl. ground mustard
- 2 Tbl. instand coffee granules
- 1 cup hot water
- 2 bottles (14 oz. each) ketchup
- 2 Tbl. Worcestershire sauce
- 2 Tbl. Liquid Smoke, optional
- 1 broiler/fryer chicken (3 1/2 to 4 lbs.), quartered
