Interpretation of the classic French recipe
- 2 pounds potatoes (1kg)
- 2 tablespoons (30ml) butter
- 1 onion, diced
- 6 oz (175g) lardons or pancetta
- 1 cup (250ml) dry white wine
- Salt and freshly ground balck pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup (60ml) half-and-half cream (the French use heavy cream if you prefer)
- 1 Reblochon cheese or 12 oz (375g) of Muenster, Jarlsberg, or Swiss (in that order of preference) if you cannot find Reblochon cheese

You can buy pre-made but it's usually very high in sodium
- 2 lb. veal or beef shin bones
- 1/2 cup chopped carrot
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1/2 cup chopped leek
- 1/2 cup chopped celery
- 3 cloves garlic, chopped
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 16 cups water
- 1/2 cup red wine
- 1/2 teaspoon black
- peppercorns
- 1 bay leaf
- 1/2 cup chopped tomato
- 3 sprigs fresh thyme
Melting Moments

- 1/2 cup butter (soft)

Sausage and Tomato Rigatoni

COOK pasta as directed on package
- 4 cups Rigatoni, uncooked
- 3/4 lb. (340 g) Italian sausage, cut into chunks
- 1 Red onion, sliced
- 1/4 cup Tomato paste
- 1/4 cup Kraft Signature Sun-Dried Tomato & Oregano Dressing
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley

Tomato BBQ Marinade

- 1/2 cup (125 mL) mild or hot salsa
- 1/2 cup (125 mL) sour cream
- 1/4 cup (60 mL) tomato juice
- 1/4 cup (60 mL) olive oil
- 2 Tbsp (30 mL) Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp (5 mL) onion powder
- 1 tsp (5 mL) garlic powder
Beef in Mushroom Gravy

Cut steak into six serving-size pieces; place in a 3-qt
- 2 to 2-1/2 pounds boneless beef round steak
- 1 to 2 envelopes onion soup mix
- 1 can (10-3/4 ounces) condensed cream of mushroom soup, undiluted
- 1/2 cup water
- Mashed potatoes, optional
Burnt Sugar Cake

When sugar mixture is cool add one half of it to the cake mixture
- In a fry pan place 1 cup white sugar. Set on stove on medium heat to brown. Stir occasionally until sugar dissolves and is quite brown.
- Add 1/2 cup water, stir. Set aside to cool.
- In bowl, beat 2 eggs.
- Add 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup butter or margerine
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 cup cold water
Chocolate-Kissed Thumbprint Cookies

Heat oven to 350° F. Lightly grease cookie sheet
- 1 cup (2 sticks) margarine or butter, slightly softened
- 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 2 egg yolks
- 2 egg whites
- 1 teaspoon vanilla

In a small mixer bowl, beat butter until creamy
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1-3/4 cup confectioner's (icing) sugar, sifted
- 1 tbsp. light (10%) cream
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
Butterscotch Pie Filling

- 1 pound brown sugar
- 1 oz flour
- 2 oz corn starch
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 1/2 cup water
- 3 egg yolks (beaten)
- 1 1/2 oz butter
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 8-inch pie shell or 48 2-inch tart shells (baked)
