Easy Fondue Sauces

Red Sauce: Combine 3/4 cup ketchup, 2 Tbsp vinegar, and 1/2 tsp prepared horseradish

Oriental Broth Fondue

Combine in saucepan. Bring to boil
- 20 ounces condensed beef broth
- 2 cups water
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- sprinkle garlic powder
Spiced Carrot and Flax Muffins

In small saucepan, cook butter over medium-low heat, stirring, until brown and nutty, about 5 minutes
- 1/3 C unsalted butter
- 1/2 C packed brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 C 1% plain yogurt
- 2 C grated carrots
- 1 3/4 C flour
- 1/3 C ground ginger
- 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 2 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- pinch ground cloves
- 2 tsp flaxseeds
Rustic Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Place all ingredients except milk in slow cooker; toss to combine
- 2 lbsbaking potatoes, unpeeled and cut into 1/2-inch cubes
- 1/4 C water
- 2 T butter, cut into 1/8-inch pieces
- 1 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 C milk
Chocolate Bark

Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil
- Cranberry Orange White Chocolate Bark:
- Good-quality white, dark or milk chocolate, chopped
- Add the grated zest of 1 orange and some dried cranberries to melted white chocolate
- Rocky Road Bark:
- Add to milk or dark chocolate: 1 Cup soft, fresh mini marshmallows and 1/2 cup dry roasted peanuts
- Marbled Chocolate Almond Bark:
- add Toasted whole almonds to dark chocolate and swirl with melted white chocolate.
- Additions: (any you like)ie:
- coarsely chopped toasted nuts, Oreo cookes, chopped dried fruit, crushed candy canes, peanut butter cups, toasted coconut - whatever works
Hot N Spicy Baste

Use on chicken
- 1/3 C commerical BBQ sauce
- 1/3 C chili sauce
- 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 tsp onion powder
- 1/4 tsp hot pepper sauce
- cayenne pepper, sprinkle
Sweet Spiced Pecans

Preheat oven to 300F. Combine everything but the pecans in a meduim bowl and stir well
- 2 Cups pecan halves
- 2 T butter, melted
- 1 T packed brown sugar
- 1 tsp balsamic vinegar
- 2 drops hot sauce
- 1 T chopped fresh rosemary
- 1/2 tsp cumin (optional)
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1/2 tsp salt
- grind of black pepper
Cappuccino Cups

In bowl over saucepan of hot (not boiling) water, melt bittersweet chocolate with cream, stirring occasionally
- 6 0z bittersweet chocolate, chopped
- 1/3 C whipping cream
- 1 tsp instant coffee granules
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 4 oz chite chocolate,chopped
- pinch cinnamon
- 21 coffee beans
Brocolli and Walnut Noodles

In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook noodles until al dente, approximately 5 minutes
- 1/2 tsp (2 mL) each salt and pepper
- 1 - 12 oz (340 g) bag extra-broad yolkfree pasta
- 2 lbs (1 kg) steamed broccoli florets and peeled stems, cut into 1/2 inch (1 cm) slices
- 1 tbsp (15 mL) olive oil
- 1/2 cup (125 mL) chopped California walnuts
- 1 lemon, zested and juiced
- 1/2 orange, juiced
- 1/2 tsp (2 mL) each salt and pepper
Sesame Stir-Fried Asparagus and Peas

Toast sesame seeds in small, heavy skillet over low heat, stirring frequently until golden brown, about 3 minutes
- 2 tsp hulled sesame seeds
- 1 1/4 lbs asparagus
- 1 tsp olive oil
- 1/2 C minced red onion
- 1 clove garlic, slivered
- 1 C frozen peas
- 1/2 tsp salt
