Apple Cake

For Bourbon Apple Cake:
arrange sliced apples in pie pan.
Sprinkle with 1 to 2 tsp bourbon or more and 1 or more T of sugar with a little cinnamon added to it.
Mix 3/4 cup sugar, 1 cup flour, 1 1/2 sticks melted butter or margarine, 1 egg and pour over apples.
Sprinkle with 1 T of sugar.
Bake at 350 degrees for 40 min. until crusty. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.

Ingredients

  • GLAZE for Apple Cake:
  • 3 cups cubed fresh apples
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 cup vegetable or Canola oil
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 to 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 T flour
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 2 T butter or margarine
  • 1/2 cup boiling water

Preparation

Step 1

Combine wet and dry ingredients.
Stir in apples and pecans.
Mixture will be very thick.
Crop by spoonfuls into a greased bundt pan.
Bake 1 hour at 325 degrees. (cake will look like it is not done)

GLAZE:
MIx dry ingredients.
Add water and cook until thick.
Add butter and pour over warm cake in the pan.
Cool and invert on a cake plate.
