Ingredients

  • Topping:
  • 1/2 cup shortening OR butter
  • 2/3 cup white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 1/4 cups flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • Rind of one lemon
  • Juice of one lemon
  • 1/4 cup sugar

Preparation

Step 1

Cream shortening, eggs and sugar until fluffy. Add dry ingredients and rind alternately with milk.

Bake 60 minutes at 350 deg. While still warm remove from pan and place on a dinner plate. Pour over the juice of one lemon and 1/4 cup sugar.
