Pork Chops Scallop

Ingredients

  • 6-8 pork chops, 1/2 to 3/4 inches thick
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 c water
  • 2 medium carrots, thinly sliced (about 1 cup)
  • 1 package frozen Italian green beans
  • 2 T butter or margarine
  • 1 package (5.5 oz) scalloped potatoes
  • 1 can 10 3/4 oz condensed cream of celery soup
  • 2/3 c. milk
  • 1/2 tsp dried basil leaves
  • 1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce

Preparation

Step 1

Heat oven to 350 degrees.
Trim excess fat from pork chops.
Rub skillet with fat trimmed from pork.
Brown pork in skillet; sprinkle with salt.

Heat water to boiling in a 3 quart sauce-pan.
Add carrots and frozen beans; heat to boiling.
Stir in butter and potato slices and Sauce Mix from scalloped potatoes package.

Mix soup, milk, basil, and Worcestershire sauce; stir into vegetable mixture.
Pour into ungreased baking disch, 13x9x2
Place pork on top.
Cover and bake 45 minutes.

Uncover and bake until pork is tender, 10-15 minutes.
Let stand 5 minutes longer before serving.
