Ingredients

  • 3 pounds Granny Smith apples peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 dash freshly-grated nutmeg (optional)
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon butter - (to 2 tbspns) cut in small pieces

Step 1

Place apple slices in the Slow cooker; stir in remaining ingredients and dot with the butter. Cover and cook on LOW for about 6 hours, or until apples are tender but not mushy. Stir about halfway through cooking.

This recipe yields 2 1/2 to 3 cups.
