Ingredients
- 3 pounds Granny Smith apples peeled, cored, and sliced
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 dash freshly-grated nutmeg (optional)
- 3 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon butter - (to 2 tbspns) cut in small pieces

Step 1
Place apple slices in the Slow cooker; stir in remaining ingredients and dot with the butter. Cover and cook on LOW for about 6 hours, or until apples are tender but not mushy. Stir about halfway through cooking.
This recipe yields 2 1/2 to 3 cups.
