Individual Apple Tarts

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet( 1/2 of a17.3 oz package) frozen puff pastry dough, thawed
  • 2 Granny smith Apples, peeled, cored and thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted and cooled
  • 1/4 cup light brown sugar

Preparation

Step 1

1. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper. On a lightly floured surface, roll out puff pastry dough to 1/16inch thickness. Cut dough into 4 6 inch rounds. Transfer rounds to baking sheet and prick dough all over with a fork. Chill dough in Refrigerator for at least 15 minutes
2. Preheat oven to 350. Arrange apple slices on dough rounds, rounded sides out to form a circle. Overlap slices so dough is completely covered.
3. Brush apples with butter and sprinkle with brown sugar.
4. Bake tarts until apples are tender and pastry is crisp about 30-35 minutes
5. Serve hot with vanilla ice cream if desired
