French Onion Soup

Ingredients
- 1 tbsp butter
- 2 large onions, thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup dry white wine
- 4 cup fat free, reduced sodium beef broth
- 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
- 8 very thin slices of french bread, dried
- 1 cup (4 oz.) shredded reduced fat Swiss Cheese

Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 375 degrees
Melt butter in large pot over low heat. Add onions. over and cook 10 to 12 minutes.
Remove lid and increase heat to high. Cook onions stirring constantly, 5 to 7 minutes or until browned. Decrease heat to medium.
Add wine. Cook, stirring frequently, 2 to 3 minutes, or until wine is absorbed.
Add broth and pepper. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 5 minutes.
Place 4 ovenproof bowls in a baking dish. Divide soup among bowls.
Place 2 bread slices on top of each bowl. Allow to stand 5 minutes.
Sprinkle with 1/4 cup of Swiss cheese. Bake 20 minutes.
