This is my personal banana bread recipe. After much trialing, I found this to be the most deliciously moist banana bread I have ever had.

  • 1 c. self-rising flour
  • 1/2 c. plain flour
  • 1 c. mashed bananas (very ripe)
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 1 stick butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract (or flavoring if preferred)
  • a pinch of baking powder
  • 1 tsp. salt



Step 1

Mix sugar with melted butter. Add milk, eggs, vanilla, baking powder and salt to mixture. Add flour small portions at a time. In final step, add bananas.
Pour into a greased loaf pan or pan of choice. I prefer to use a pyrex casserole dish.

Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. The top will be a deep brown color but not to worry! The high sugar content causes the deep browning. The internal consistency will marry with the browning and make the best bread ever!
