Ingredients

  • 1

    cup sour cream

  • 2 1/2

    teaspoons Lawry's®

  • Seasoned Salt , divided

  • 1/4

    teaspoon Lawry's®

  • Seasoned Pepper

  • 2

    cans (15 1/2 ounces each)

  • black-eyed peas, drained

  • and rinsed

  • 2

    eggs, lightly beaten

  • 1

    cup finely chopped onion

  • 1/2

    cup finely chopped

  • red bell pepper

  • 1/2

    cup flour

  • 1/4

    teaspoon baking powder

  • 1/4

    teaspoon baking soda

  • 1/2

    cup vegetable oil

Directions

1. Mix sour cream, 1/2 teaspoon of the seasoned salt and seasoned pepper in small bowl until well blended. Cover. Refrigerate until ready to serve. 2. Mash black-eyed peas in large bowl. Stir in remaining ingredients, except oil, until well blended. 3. Heat oil in large deep skillet on medium-high heat. Drop bean mixture into oil by 1/4-cupfuls, flattening slightly. Cook fritters, turning once, 7 minutes or until golden brown. Drain on paper towels. Keep warm while cooking remaining fritters. Serve warm fritters with sour cream mixture.
