SEASONED BLACK EYED PEA FRITTERS

Ingredients
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 1/2 teaspoons Lawry's®
- Seasoned Salt , divided
- 1/4 teaspoon Lawry's®
- Seasoned Pepper
- 2 cans (15 1/2 ounces each)
- black-eyed peas, drained
- and rinsed
- 2 eggs, lightly beaten
- 1 cup finely chopped onion
- 1/2 cup finely chopped
- red bell pepper
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil

Preparation
Step 1
1. Mix sour cream, 1/2 teaspoon of the seasoned salt and seasoned pepper in small bowl until well blended. Cover. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
2. Mash black-eyed peas in large bowl. Stir in remaining ingredients, except oil, until well blended.
3. Heat oil in large deep skillet on medium-high heat. Drop bean mixture into oil by 1/4-cupfuls, flattening slightly. Cook fritters, turning once, 7 minutes or until golden brown. Drain on paper towels. Keep warm while cooking remaining fritters. Serve warm fritters with sour cream mixture.
