Ingredients
- 1 yellow cake mix (follow directions on box, take out 1 cup of batter and set aside to use later in icing.)
- 1 stick butter
- 1 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 20oz can crushed pineapple (don't drain liquid)
- 1 tsp vanilla

Step 1
follow yellow cake mix instructions on box. remove 1 cup of batter and set aside to use in the icing. the remainder of the batter pour into a greased/floured cake pan. cook for 30-40 min until cake sticks clean with a toothpick.
for the icing, melt stick of butter in medium sauce pan. add 1 1/2 cups sugar and 20 oz can of pineapple. bring to boil ntil sugar is completely melted. add the 1 cup of batter that you held out. stir constantly until mixture thickens. once thickened, remove from heat. add the vanilla. spread evenly over cake. allow to cool. this cake is good served either cool, warm or room temp.
