REALSWEET CLASSIC SWEET ONION SOUP

Ingredients

  • 4 large onions, sliced
  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 quarts beef broth
  • 1/2 cup marsala wine
  • salt and pepper. to taste
  • 1/2 baguette french bread, toasted
  • grated romano cheese

Preparation

Step 1

Melt butter in saucepan that holds at least 4 quarts.

Add sweet onions and cook over medium heat for 12 minutes or until the onions are tender and golden, stirring often.

Add sugar and cook, stirring for 1 minute.

Add broth, cover and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 12 minutes.

Season to taste with salt and pepper.

Float toast in top and sprinkle with cheese.
