Ingredients

  • Filling:
  • Crusts(Double for 2 crusts)
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/3 cup shortening
  • 2-4 tbsp. ice water
  • 1 lb pumpkin
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 cups evaporated milk
  • 1 tsp ginger
  • 2 tsp nutmeg
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground cloves
  • 1-2 oz whiskey

Preparation

Step 1

Crust:
Combine flour and salt. Add shortening, cut in with fork until crumbly. Add ice water a tbsp. at a time until you can roll a piece into a small ball. Roll out on floured surface

Filling:
Combine pumpkin and spices in a pot. In a separate bowl, beat eggs, add sugar, milk and salt. Add to pumpkin and spices in pot, heat thoroughly. After pumpkin is heated thoroughly, stir in 1-2 oz whiskey. Pour into pie crusts. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-40 mins or until toothpick comes out clean.
