The easiest chocolate chip cookie recipe you will ever make! Just dump the homemade dough in a cast iron skillet and bake. Warm, chewy, goodness!
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2/3 teaspoon baking soda
- Scant 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 11 tablespoons (1 stick + 3 tablespoons) salted butter, softened
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup firmly packed dark brown sugar
- 3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 Jumbo egg
- 3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 350°F. Lightly butter the bottom and about 3/4" up the sides of a 9" cast iron skillet. Set aside.
In a bowl stir together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
In another mixing bowl and using a hand mixer, beat together the softened butter, sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla until creamy. Beat in the egg until well blended. Gradually, beat in the flour mixture just until all is incorporated. Stir in the chocolate chips by hand.
Spoon mixture into the skillet and spread out.
Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until lightly browned and center tests done with a wooden toothpick. Don't overbake or it will be crisp instead of chewy.
Cool to lukewarm or room temperature in the skillet on a wire cooling rack.
