Oven Roasted Asparagus

Roasting eliminates the natural bitterness of asparagus. It is good cooked alongside a salmon fillet.
Ingredients
- 1 bunch asparagus spears, trimmed
- 1 teaspoon olive oil
- 1 1/2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
- 1 clove garlic, minced or 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
- 1 teaspoon sea or kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice (optional)

Preheat an oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).2
Place the asparagus in a mixing bowl, and drizzle with the olive oil. Toss to coat the spears, then sprinkle with Parmesan cheese, garlic, salt, and pepper. Toss again.
Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil. Arrange the asparagus on the baking sheet in a single layer.
Bake until tender, until the stalks begin to shrivel and color lightly, 10 to 15 minutes depending on thickness. Sprinkle with lemon juice just before serving.
