Black BEAN VEGGIE bURGERS

Ingredients
- 1 15 oz. can black beans, drained, and rinsed
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 1 tablespoon ground cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 teaspoons Thai chili sauce or hot sauce
- 1 egg
- 1/2 green bell pepper, cut into chunks
- 1/2 med. onion, cut into chunks
- 3 cloves garlic
- 1/2 cup dried whole grain bread crumbs. I used panko
- 1 tablespoon olive oil

Step 1
Mash beans with a fork in a bowl until smooth and pasty. Add chili powder, cumin, salt, chili sauce. Add egg; stir to combine.
Pulse bell pepper, onion, and garlic in a food processor until finely chopped; stir into bean mixture. Add bread crumbs and mix well until well combined.
Divide mixture into 4-6 patties and transfer to a plastic wrap on sheet pan. Flatten patties to about 1/2 ". Brush tops with oil. Fry in a nonstick pan until brown and crusty on both sides.
These can be cooked ahead, cooled, wrap and freeze. Up to a month.
Reheat in a 350@ oven for about 10 minutes.
Serve with a spicy mayo sauce.
