Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup margarine
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 1/2 cup flour
  • grated lemon rind
  • Topping
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • juice from one lemon

Preparation

Step 1

Cream margarine and sugar.
Add eggs and lemon rind and stir.
Combine dry ingredients.
Add dry ingredients and milk alternately.
Pour into greased loaf pan.
Bake 350 for 50-60 minutes.
Cool.
While cooling, combine juice from one lemon and mixed with 1/4 sugar.
Pour over loaf.
