  • 2 dozen (2 lbs) large raw shrimp
  • 1/4 lb butter or margarine
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 2 scissor-snipped green onions
  • 2 tsp lemon juice
  • 2 tsp Worcestershire
  • 2 tsp vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp dry mustard
  • 1/4 tsp season salt
  • A little pepper

Step 1

Shell and devein shrimp, leaving tails with the shells on each one. Rinse under cold water. Drain on paper toweling. Preheat oven to 400F. Melt butter with oil in 2-qt saucepan. Stir in garlic and green onions, cooking over low heat about 3 minutes or till tender. Stir in lemon juice, Worcestershire, vinegar, mustard, salt & pepper. Simmer 10 minutes, stirring frequently.

Butter a 9x12x2" baking pan and arrange shrimp in single layer. Bake these uncovered about 5 mins at 400F. Pour green onion mixture over shrimp. Bake 10 mins longer or till shrimp are barely cooked but tender. Remove from baking pan with slotted spoon, and arrange on a flattering serving platter. Serve at once.

Serves 4 nicely.
