Ingredients
- 1 1/2 c half & half cream
- 8 oz container spreadable chive & onion cream cheese
- 2 T dried minced onion
- 1 t salt
- 1/2 pepper
- 2 pkgs (20 oz each) refrigerated shredded has brown potatoes
- 2 c shredded Swiss cheese
- 3 T minced fresh chives, divided
- 2 T butter, cubed

Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 375. In Dutch oven combine first 5 ingredients; cook & stir over med heat until blended. Stir in potatoes.
In greased 13x9 in or 3 qt. baking dish, layer a third of the hash brown mixture & 2/3 Swiss cheese; sprinkle with 1 T chives. Repeat layers. Top with remaining hash brown mixture & cheese; dot with butter.
Bake covered 35 min. Bake uncovered 10-20 min longer until edges begin to brown & potatoes are heated through. Let stand 10 min before serving. Sprinkle with remaining chives.
