Bacon Cheese Onion Buds

  • Large Whole Onions
  • Thick Cut Bacon, Uncooked
  • Grated Cheddar Cheese
  • Paprika
  • Cayenne Pepper
  • Dipping Sauce
  • 1/2 c sour cream
  • 2 T ketchup
  • 1/2 t cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 t paprika
  • 1/2 t garlic flakes
  • 1 T horseradish

Step 1

Preheat 1/2 of BBQ grill. Cut off ends of onion, peel. Cross cut onions, thinly, by slicing both ways, but not all the way through. Put them on no heated side of grill. Sprinkle with cayenne pepper in middle of onion. Sprinkle paprika over entire onion. Put 1 slice bacon on top of onion. Grill for approximately 1 hour. Use spatula to push bacon down and sprinkle with grated cheese. Heat until cheese is melted. Serve with dipping sauce.

Sauce. Mix all ingredients together.
