- 1 cup oleo (2 sticks), melted
- 2 cups brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1/2 cup corn syrup
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 cups popping corn

Preparation
Step 1
1. Pop corn in microwave or hot air popping machine. No butter or salt added.
2. After discarding the unpopped or burned kernels, keep 6 quarts popped corn warm in a very slow oven while making the syrup.
Melt oleo and stir in brown sugar/corn syrup/salt bring to boil. Stirring constantly, remove from heat and add baking soda and vanilla.
Gradually pour over popped corn in a large bowl, mixing well w/a fork. Turn into two large shallow baking pans, bake at 250 degrees for one hour stirring every 15 minutes.
Set pans out of oven cool completely. Break caramelized corn apart.
