Glazed Scallops

Ingredients

  • 8 sea scallops (4 per person)
  • 8 slices bacon
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup - or amount to your tasting
  • 1/4 cup barbecue sauce (preferably a smoky one)(I use a local sauce - black raspberry from carter cue)
  • wooden skewers

Preparation

Step 1

1. Soak long wooden skewers in water for about 20 minutes
2. Preheat BBQ to 250F or use broiler in oven
3. Mix BBQ sauce and Maple Syrup
4. Precook bacon in microwave slightly.
5. Wrap bacon around each scallop and thread on a skewer.
6. Place each skewer on grill or under broiler
7. Sear for about 2 minutes on each side
8. Spoon or brush BBQ sauce mixture over entire skewer each turn
9. Grill and turn every 2 minutes.
10. Remove from grill after about 8 minutes. The longer they are left on he crispier and somewhat chewier they will be.
