Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lb. lean ground beef
- 3/4 cup uncooked, parboiled white rice
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 egg whites, beaten
- 1/2 cup raisins (optional)
- 2 1/2 cups ginger ale
- 1 1/2 cups ketchup
- 1 can (8 oz.) tomato sauce
- 1/2 head (about 1 1/4 lb.) cabbage, chopped (8 cups), divided

Grease a 13" x 9" or other shallow 3-qt. baking dish. In medium bowl combine ground beef, rice, onion, egg whites, and if desired, raisins. In another bowl, with fork or wire whisk, blend ginger ale, ketchup, and tomato sauce.
Place 6 cups of the cabbage in baking dish. Spread beef mixture evenly over cabbage. Sprinkle the remaining 2 cups cabbage over beef. Pour ketchup mixture evenly over casserole.
Heat oven to 350*. Cook, covered, 1 1/2 hours or until beef is cooked and cabbage and rice are tender.
