Ingredients
- Topping:
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 1 can pineapple rings
- maraschino cherries
- Cake:
- 3 eggs, separated
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup cake flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 5 tbsp pineapple juice

Preparation
Step 1
Mix brown sugar and butter together. Spread on bottom of greased 9x13-inch pan. Lay pineapple rings in pattern over brown sugar mixture. Place cherry in center of each ring.
Beat egg whites until stiff. Set aside. Beat egg yolks until thick. Add sugar. Sift flour and baking powder together. Add alternately with pineapple juice to egg yolk mixture. Gently fold in egg whites. Pour over pineapple slices. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Turn upside down. Cool. Serve with whipped cream.
