Bacon Wrapped Water Chestnuts

Ingredients

  • 16 oz bacon
  • 1 large can water chestnuts, whole
  • 2/3 c sugar
  • 1 c ketchup
  • toothpicks

Preparation

Step 1

Cut each strip of raw bacon in to thirds. Wrap one third of bacon around each whole water chestnut and secure with a toothpick. Place on a foil wrapped cookie sheet and bake at 350 for 30 mins.

While baking, prepare the sauce by mixing together the sugar and ketchup.

After the 30 min baking time, remove the wraps from the oven. Life wraps from cookie sheet and use a spoon to coat each wrap with sauce. Place wraps back onto the cookie sheet and bake for an additional 25 minutes.
