Garlic Bread

Ingredients

  • 5-6 cloves of garlic, chopped
  • 1/4 cup Fresh Flat-leaf Parsley, roughly chopped
  • 1 TB Fresh Oregano
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • Pepper
  • 1/4 cup Olive Oil
  • 1 loaf of Italian Bread
  • 2 TB Butter
  • Grated Parmesan Cheese

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Place the garlic, parsley, oregano, salt and pepper in the bowl of a food processor. Process until finely minced.

Heat the olive oil in a saute pan over medium heat. Add the garlic and parsley mixture and cook for 1 minute, until the garlic is tender but not browned. Remove from the heat and set aside.

Slice the baguette lengthwise down the center, but not all the way through, and spoon the garlic mixture into the 1/2 of the bread and spread butter on other half. (Optional - sprinkle parmesan on bread halves)

Put the halves together. Wrap the bread in aluminum foil.

Place the bread in the oven and bake for 5 minutes. Open the foil, and continue baking for an additional 5 minutes.

Slice diagonally and serve warm.
