Turkey Sausage & Apple Quiche

Ingredients

  • 1 Pre-made piecrust
  • 1/2 pound turkey sausage
  • 1 TBS Butter
  • 1 apple, peeled, cored, and diced
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup shredded white sharp cheddar cheese

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350.

Remove sausage from casing and crumble in skillet over medium high heat. Sauté the sausage until cooked through. Drain well, set aside.

Wipe skillet with paper towel and add butter. Melt and then add apple. Sauté until softened. Set aside.

Combine eggs and cream.

Place sausage in bottom of piecrust and put the apple on top. Distribute cheese on top of apple. Pour egg mixture over all.

Bake 50 minutes to one hour, until quiche is somewhat firm when touched. Cool and serve warm.


This recipe is very easy to double. Piecrusts usually come two in a package and the sausage is usually packaged as one pound. I usually make two and freeze one for later.
