Creamed Corn

  • 4 1/2 cups frozen corn or 6 ears of corn, husks and silk removed
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream or half and half
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • table grind pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese



Step 1

1. Remove corn kernels from cobs
2.In a medium saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Addonion and cook stirring frequently until softened, 2-3 minutes. Add corn and 3/4 cup of water. Bring to a boil. reduce to a simmer, cover and cook until corn is tender, about 10 -15 minutes
3.Add cream,slat and pepper;simmer uncovered until cream as thickened. Add parmesan cheese and stir to combine
4. Serve
