Garam Masala chicken stew w peas & potatoes

I would sub some chili powder and a touch of hot sauce or crushed red pepper for the Garam Masala-which is a blend of spices used in Indian food if you dont like that kind of spice

Ingredients
- cooking spray
- 6 large skinless boneless chicken thighs (about 1 1/2 pd)
- 4 small or 2 medium red potatoes int in 1/2 in cubes
- 1 medium onion sliced thin
- 1 1/2 t grated fresh ginger
- 2 cloves minced garlic
- 1/2 t each salt and pepper
- 1 14.5 oz can chicken broth
- 1 8oz can no salt added tomato sauce
- 1 c frozen peas
- 1/2 c plain no fat yogurt
- 2 t garam masala

Preparation
Step 1
lightly coat a large skillit with cooking spray
turn to med high heat
add chicken meat sides down and cook 6 minutes or till brown on both sides turning once
combine potatoes, onion ginger and garlic in slow cooker
top with chicken and sprinkle with salt and pepper
pour broth and tomato sauce over all
cover and cook on low setting 5 1/2 hours
turn cooker to high-stir in peas, yogurt and garam masala
cover and cook 15 mins
