Ingredients

  • Filling:
  • 9 inch pie crust/shell (It says not to bake it, but I bake mine for about 5 minutes)
  • 3/4 C. sugar
  • 2 T. flour
  • 1 t. cinnamon
  • 1/8 t. nutmeg
  • 1/4 t. salt
  • 6-7 C. sliced & peeled apples
  • Crumb topping:
  • 1/2 C. butter, softened
  • 1/2 C. light brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1 C. flour

Preparation

Step 1

Oven 400. Prepare pie crust/shell.

Combine dry ingredients. Add apples & mix thoroughly. Place in pie shell.

Prepare crumb topping: mix butter with dry ingredients until crumbly. Sprinkle on top of apple filling. Bake for 45-55 minutes, covering crust if it starts to brown too quickly.
