Vegetable Side: Green Beans with Mustard and Thyme

My favorite way to make green beans. Flavorful but not overwhelming.

Ingredients
- 2 pounds green beans, trimmed
- 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter
- 1 1/2 tbsp. chopped fresh thyme
- 1 tbsp. dijon mustard
- 1 tsp. garlic salt
- 1/8 cup slivered almonds, toasted

Preparation
Step 1
Cook beans in large pot of boiling water (salted) until just crisp tender, about 5 minutes. Using a 4-5" diameter strainer, transfer beans to a large bowl of ice water. Cool completely. Drain.
Melt butter in heavy large skillet over medium-high heat. Whisk 1 tbsp. thyme, 1 tbsp. mustard and 1 tsp. garlic salt into butter in each skillet. Add beans to skillet and toss until heated through, about 4 minutes. Season to taste ith pepper. Sprinkle with toasted almonds and remaining thyme.
