Loaded Italian Sausage Subs
Ingredients
- 1 and 1/4 lbs. Italian turkey sausage links
- 1 (26oz.) jar Marinara pasta sauce
- 1 green bell pepper, seeded and thinly sliced
- 1 red bell pepper, seeded and thinly sliced
- 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
- 1 (14.5oz.) can diced tomatoes, drained
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 6 Hoagie Rolls, toasted
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella or provolone

Step 1
Preheat over to 400 degrees. Place sausages in shallow baking pan. Bake 20 minutes or until instant-read thermometer registers 165 degrees, turning once. When cool enough to handle, cut each sausage in half lengthwise; set aside.
Combine sauce and cooked sausage in a large saucepan; bring to boiling. Reduce heat sand simmer, uncovered, 5 minutes. Add bell peppers, onion, tomatoes and seasoning. Simmer uncovered, 10 to 15 minutes or until peppers and onions are tneder, stirring occasionally.
Place 2 peices osf sausage on the bottom half of a roll for each sub. Top with some of the peppers and onions. Spoon sauce on top, sprinkle with chees, and top with the tip half of the roll. Serve immediately.
