Ingredients

  • 2 * 2 pkg frozen chopped spinach, reserving 1/2 cup liquid remaining after defrosting
  • 4 * 4 T butter
  • 2 * 2 T flour
  • 2 * 2 T minced onion
  • 1/2 * 1/2 tsp. black pepper
  • 1 * 1 tsp. Worcestershire
  • 1/2 * 1/2 cup evaporated milk
  • 3/4 * 3/4 tsp. celery salt
  • 1/3 * 1/3 tsp. salt
  • 3/4 * 3/4 tsp. garlic salt
  • * Cayenne pepper to taste
  • 1 * 1 8 oz roll Kraft jalapeno pepper cheese, shredded
  • * Bread crumbs

Preparation

Step 1

Defrost spinach in microwave oven. Squeeze out excess liquid reserving ½ cup. Melt butter in pan, adding flour and onion. Cook slowly and add spinach liquid and ½ c evaporated milk, stirring until smooth. Add seasonings and cheese. When cheese melts, add spinach. Put in shallow 1 qt casserole and cover with crumbs. Bake, uncovered, 30 minutes at 350. (Can be made day ahead and refrigerated until baked)
