Ingredients

  • 2 cups dried apricots
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup apricot jam
  • 1-1/4 tsp almond extract,dvd
  • 1-1/2 tsp whole aniseed
  • 1 egg
  • Heavy cream

Step 1

Combine apricots and 2 cups water in saucepan and simmer till softened, about 15 minutes. Add 1/2 cup sugar and stir till dissolved. Remove from heat and add 1 tsp almond extract. Divide dough in half and on two sheets pat into 9" rounds. Divide apricot mixture between rounds, leaving 1/2 inch border. Let raise till doubled.brush beaten egg onto the plain border. Bake @350* for 25-30 minutes. Serve with a whipped cream using remaining extract and sugar.
