Apple crisp cake

Ingredients
- 1 Package (17.4 oz) cinnamon swirl quick bread and coffee cake mix, divided
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 eggs
- 4 Tablespoons butter or margarine, melted and divided
- 4 Medium Granny Smith Apples
- 1/2 cup old-fashioned or quick oats
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- caramel topping (optional)
- cool whip (optional)

Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350.
Remove 1/4 cup of the bread mix and set aside.
Combine remaining quick bread mix, water and eggs in a large bowl.
Melt butter in microwave on high for 45 seconds. Add 2 Tablespoons of melted butter to cake mix. Stir until well blended and pour into a greased 9x9 inch pan.
Peel, core and slice apples. Cut apple slices into eighths and arrange evenly over batter.
Combine small packet of swirl mix, oats, 1/4 cup reserved bread mix and remaining 2 Tablespoons melted butter and cinnamon. Mix well.
Sprinkle mixture over apples.
Bake 40-45 minutes.
Drizzle with caramel and cool whip, if desired.
