Macaroni and Cheese Casserole

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lbs of bacon
  • 2 cups macaroni
  • 1 lb Velveeta Cheese - SLICED
  • 4 slices of bread - toasted and cubed (OR Panko bread crumbs)
  • salt
  • pepper
  • onion salt or powder
  • Sauce (*see below for alt)
  • 1 1/2 cups of milk
  • 2 tbsp of butter
  • 1 tsp mustard
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 1 tsp corn starch mixed with milk
  • alt - Melt about 3 tbsp of butter and add close to the same amount of flour in a pan and slowly add in the milk, spices and mustard.

Step 1

Brown bacon and drain. Cook macaroni until done. To make sauce - mix milk, butter, mustard, salt and pepper in sauce pan over medium heat. When butter is melted, add corn starch and milk mixture. Stir until thick, Grease bottom of casserole. Put a layer of macaroni, bacon, onion powder, and a layer of Velveeta. Repeat layers. Pour mustard sauce on top. Put cubed bread on top to cover.

Bake at 375 degrees for about 1/2 hour.
