  • 2

    Tbsp. oil

  • 2 to 3

    pounds beef roast, rolled rump or sirloin tip

  • Sauce:

  • 1/2

    c. catsup

  • 1

    Tbsp. vinegar

  • Couple drops of hot sauce

  • 1/2

    tsp.dry mustard

  • 1

    or more cloves garlic

  • 2

    Tbsp. molasses

  • 1

    tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

  • 1/2

    tsp. chili powder

Directions

Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Salt and pepper beef roast; dust with flour. Brown roast in the hot oil on all sides; transfer to crockpot. To the skillet, add all sauce ingredients and bring to a simmer; pour over beef roast. Cover and cook on HIGH for 1 hour. Cook on LOW for 5 to 6 hours longer. Let beef roast stand for 10 minutes before slicing. Use for sandwiches, French dips, or serve with vegetables.
