Butter Pound Cake


This rich buttery pound cake is delicious with fruit, whipped cream, or even a drizzle of chocolate sauce!

  • 3/4 lb. butter
  • 2 Cups flour
  • 1 3/4 Cup sugar
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees

Cream butter and flour in large bowl. In a smaller bowl beat sugar and eggs. Slowely add sugar mixture to the flour and beat for 20 min. Add vanilla and baking powder and beat well. Pour batter into non-grased loaf pan and bake for 15 min. Then lower heat to 250 degrees for an additional 1 hour or until knife inserted comes out clean.
