Whole Wheat Bread

Any basic bread dough can be made into many tasty variations limited only by your imagination
- 1/3 C honey
- 1/3 C oil
- 2 1/2 C Warm Water
- 1 1/2 TB Saf Instant Yeast
- 2 1/2 tsp Real Salt
- 6-7 C Fresh whole wheat flour
- 1 1/2 TB Dough Enhancer or wheat gluten
Gingered Carrot Soup

844 mg potassium in one serving
- 2 Tbsp. olive oil
- 1/2 cup minced onion
- 1/4 cup grated fresh ginger
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 3-4 cups Kitchen Basics® Unsalted Chicken Stock
- 4 cups sliced peeled carrots
- 1/2 cup evaporated skim milk (half and half)
- 1/4 tsp. ground cumin
Tangy Steak (pressure cooker)

This can also be cooked in a crock pot
- 2 tsp yellow mustard
- 2 Tbsp Worcestershire
- 2 tsp lemon juice
- Dash Tobasco
- 1 can tomato soup
- 2 lb round steak or stew meat
- 1 Tbsp oil
- 1 Tbsp minced garlic
- 2 Tbsp dried onion
- 1/2 c chopped celery
- 2 Tbsp brown sugar
Curried Chicken Salad

- 3/4 cup sweetened flaked coconut
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
- 2 teaspoons curry powder
- 4 cups chopped cooked chicken
- 3/4 cup golden raisins
- 1/2 cup minced green onions
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/3 cup coarsely chopped honey-roasted peanuts
Chicken and Artichoke Salad

- 1 cup slivered almonds
- 4 cups chopped cooked chicken
- 1 (14-oz.) can artichoke hearts, drained and coarsely chopped
- 1 cup diced celery
- 1/4-1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh chives
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh tarragon
- 2 teaspoons lemon zest
- Salt and freshly ground pepper to taste
- Garnish: fresh chives
Corn Chowder

1. In skillet, brown bacon until crisp
- 6 slices bacon, diced
- 1/2 cup chopped onions
- 2 cups diced peeled potatoes
- 2 10-oz pkgs. frozen corn
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp. seasoned salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1 cup water
French Honey Bread (bread machine)

Mix together in bread machine, shape into French loaf and let rise again
- 1 1/8 warm water, 110 degrees
- 1 Tbsp honey
- 1 Tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp sugar
- 3 c bread flour
- 2 tsp instant yeast
Cheeseburger Soup

A very nice soup, filling and delicious
- 1 lb hamburger, cooked
- 1 onion, diced
- 3/4 c diced celery
- 3/4 c diced carrot
- 3 Tbsp butter
- 1 tsp basil
- 3 c chicken broth (3 c water, 3 chicken bullion cubes)
- 2-3 medium potatoes, peeled and diced
- 1/4 cup flour
- 8 oz Velveeta cheese
- 1 1/2 c milk
- 1/2 c sour cream
Cinnabones

Preheat oven to 350 degrees
- 1 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
- 1/2 cup brewers yeast
- 1/2 cup wheat germ
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons of honey
- 2 tablespoons of molasses
- 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
Three-Fruit Frozen Yogurt

- 2 bananas, mashed
- 1 (8-oz.) can crushed pineapple
- 1 small container frozen strawberries (I use unsweetened)
- 1 small container yogurt (any flavor)
- 1 (8-oz.) container Cool Whip
- 1/2 cup sugar
