Saute onion and garlic in butter in medium-size saucepan over medium-low heat 5 minutes or until golden

  • 2 Cups all pourpose flur
  • 1 cup sugar, cranberries - halved, and 1 cup walnuts or pecans, chopped
  • 1 ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp. Salt
  • ¾ cup orange juice
  • 1 tab. Grated orange peel
  • 2 tab. Shortening
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • Sift together all dry ingredients. Mix together all the rest, except cranberries and nuts. Blend both mixtures. Mix in cranberries and nuts. Pour into greased loaf pans. Bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees.
