- CAKE:
- 2 cups all purpose flour (about 8 1/2 oz) plus more for dusting
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 2 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp fine salt
- 2 c sugar
- 2 c water
- 4 oz unsweetened baking chocolate, roughly chopped (about 3/4 c)
- 6 tbs unsalted butter (3 oz), plus more for greasing
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs, lightly beaten
- CHOCOLATE FROSTING-
- 1 1/2 c sugar
- 1 1/3 c heavy cream
- 6 oz unsweetened baking chocolate, roughly chopped
- 1/2 c plus 2 tbs unsalted butter
- 1 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 1/8 tsp fine sea salt
Fusilli with Shrimp

- 1 package of fusilli (rigatoni rigate is great also)
- 2 tbs fresh lemon juice
- 1 tsp lemon zest, finely grated
- 1/2 lb medium shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 6 tbs unsalted butter, cubed

- 2 green cardamom pods
- 1 2/3 c granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 2 large egg yolks
- 1/2 tsp coarse salt
- 1 tbs orange zest
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 c evoo
- 2 1/3 c flour (10 oz) plus more for dusting
- 1 tbs baking powder
- 1 lb granny smith apples (about 2 large apples), peeled cut into dice
- 2 tbs powdered sugar
- 1 1/2 c lightly sweetened whipped cream, for serving
Berry Dumpling Cobbler

This is a nice recipe that has a combo of berries and very quick to make
- 1 1/2 c blueberries
- 1 1/2 c raspberries
- 1 1/2 c strawberries
- 1/2 c plus 2 tbs packed light brown sugar
- 1/4 c plus 1 tbs water
- 1/2 vanilla bean, split, scraped and pod reserved
- salt
- 1 tbs cornstarch
- 1/2 c flour
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/8 tsp nutmeg
- 2 tbs unsalted butter, cold and cut into diced pieces
- 1/4 c buttermilk
- whipped cream for topping, optional

- 1 small onion halved
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 large thyme sprig
- Sea salt and table salt
- 2 lbs. haricot verts, trimmed
- 2 large shallots minced
- 2 garlic cloves minced
- 1 tbs Dijon mustard
- 2 tbs sherry vinegar
- 2 tbs red wine vinegar
