- 2/3 cup milk

Chicken Pot Pie

Whisk SOS Mix with water until well blended

- 1/3 cup SOS Mix (recipe follows)
- 1 1/4 cups cold water

- 2 tbsp vegetable shortening
- 1 1/2 sticks unsalted butter
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 3/4 cup all purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup sprinkles or jimmies
Chocolate Chiffon Valentine Cake

Everyone will be feeling the love this Valentine's Day with this rich and velvety chocolate chiffon cake!
- CAKE:
- 4 eggs, separated
- 1/2 cup baking cocoa
- 1/2 cup hot water
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 1/4 cups sugar, divided
- 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup canola oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
- FROSTING:
- 1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream
- 1/4 cup confectioners' sugar
- 15 small fresh strawberries, halved
- Fresh mint, optional
Cream of Wild Rice Soup

In a large saucepan, saute the onion, carrot and celery in butter until tender
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 1 large carrot, shredded
- 1 celery rib, chopped
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 8 cups chicken broth
- 3 cups cooked wild rice
- 1 cup cubed cooked chicken breast
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1 cup fat-free evaporated milk
- 1/4 cup minced chives
MEXICAN RICE

Heat olive oil in a saucepan over med heat
- 1 T olive oil
- 1 cup long grain rice
- 2 T yellow onion, finely diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and freshly ground pepper
- 1 t cumin
- 1/2 cup tomato sauce
- 1-3/4 chicken broth
- 3 T fresh cilantro, finely chopped
Thai Chicken 'n' Rice Wraps

Combine vinegar, chili sauce, 1 tablespoon sesame oil, and the ginger in a small bowl; set aside
- 4 teaspoons rice vinegar
- 2 tablespoons plus 2 teaspoons Asian chili sauce with garlic
- 2 tablespoons dark sesame oil, divided
- 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger or 1 tablespoon jarred minced ginger
- 2 cups shredded roasted chicken
- 1 large clove garlic, pressed
- 1 cup fresh cilantro leaves, chopped
- 8 leaves Boston or Bibb lettuce
- 2 cups warm cooked rice (see note)
Strawberry Coffee Cake

Filling: In a small saucepan, add the water and strawberries
- Fruit Filling:
- 2 cups sliced strawberries
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/4 cup white sugar
- 2 tbsp corn starch
- Cake:
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 3/4 cup white sugar
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 cup butter (4 tbsps)
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup buttermilk (to make buttermilk, use a scant 1/2 cup of milk and pour in a drop of white vinegar. Let sit for 2 minutes).
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- Crumb Topping:
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tbsp butter
Potato Mac Salad

Combine macaroni, potato, garlic salt, vinegar and pepper and mix
- Garnishes:
- 1/2 Pound macaroni, cooked well done, cooled drained
- 3 hard-boiled eggs, cooled, peeled, chopped (reserve some for garnish)
- 4 russet potatoes, cooked well done and cubed
- 1 Tablespoon garlic salt
- 1 Tablespoon vinegar
- 1/2 Tablespoon pepper
- 2 1/2 Cup Best Foods mayonnaise
- 1 Cup frozen peas, thawed and drained
- 1/2 Cup shredded carrots
- Thinly sliced green onions
- Reserved chopped hard boiled eggs
