Cheesy Bratwurst and Beer Soup

Saute onion, celery, and carrot in olive oil in a large pot for 15 miutes, stirring occasionally
- 3 tbsps olive oil
- 1 cup finely chopped onion
- 1 cup celery (finely chopped)
- 1 cup carrot (sliced)
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1 lb potatoes (peeled and diced)
- 6 cups chicken stock
- 12 ozs beer
- 1/2 tsp mustard powder
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp celery seed
- 1/2 salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper (fresh ground)
- 1 dash cayenne pepper
- 1/2 cup milk (half and half)
- 1 tsp worcestershire sauce
- 2 cups cheddar cheese (grated)
- 3 bratwurst (cooked and sliced)

Lavender Sugar

In a clean glass jar, layer the lavender with the sugar
- 1/3 not, the flavor will be too strong and camphorous and it will not taste good. Dried lavender is much stronger than fresh, so use less, about 1/3 the amount of dried.
