Granite Steps Country Blueberry Coffee Cake

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F
- 1/2 c. packed light brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1 (12-oz.) can buttermilk biscuits
- 1/2 c. (1 stick) butter, melted
- 1 c. quick-cooking rolled oats
- 1 1/2 c. fresh or frozen blueberries
- 1/2 c. sugar
Mustard Horseradish Sauce

Whisk together all ingredients and refrigerate until serving
- 1 1/2 cups good mayonnaise
- 3 T Dijon Mustard
- 1 1/2 T whole-grain mustard
- 1 T prepared horseradish
- 1/3 cup sour cream
- 1/4 tsp kosher salt
Macaroni Salad

Toss vinegar and oil over hot macaroni
- 1 box ring macaroni- Cook as directed
- 2 tbsp. vinegar
- 2 tbsp. oil
- 1 c. chopped green pepper
- 1 c. diced radish
- 1 c. diced ham
- 1 c. diced celery
- 1-17 oz. can peas
- 1/4 c. diced onion
- 1 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
- 1/2-3/4 c mayonaise
Potluck Apple Pie

In bowl, combine 1/4 cup flour and water until smooth; set aside
- Filling:
- 2 1/4 c. flour, divided
- 1/4 c. water
- pinch of salt
- 1 c. shortening
- 1/2 c. maple syrup, divided
- 3 lb. (8 to 9 c.) thinly-sliced apples
- 1 1/4 c. sugar
- 1/4 c. lemon juice
- 2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- Topping:
- 1 c. flour
- 1/2 c. packed brown sugar
- 1/2 c. cold butter
- 1 c. chopped pecans
Aunt Dora's Sugar Cookies

Beat together flour, butter, baking powder, soda and nutmeg
- 3 c. flour
- 1 c. butter
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 scant tsp. soda
- 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
- 2 eggs
- 1 c. sugar
- 4 tbsp. milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Green Beans

Reserve 12 large nice mushrooms for top
- 3 boxes frozen French - cut green beans, cooked and drained
- 1 lb. fresh mushrooms, chopped
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 1/2 c. marg.
- 1/4 c. flour
- 1 c. 1/2 & 1/2
- 1 c. milk
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 2 tbsp. soy sauce
- 1/2 lb. Velveeta cheese, cubed or sliced
- 1 can water chestnuts, thinly sliced
- 1 (3 1/2 oz.) pkg. slivered almond
Homemade Chicken Stock

Place all ingredients in a large stock pot
- 3 5-lb roasting chickens
- 3 large yellow onions, unpeeled and quartered
- 6 carrots, unpeeled and halved
- 4 celery stalks with leaves, cut in thirds
- 4 parsnips, unpeeled, cut in half
- 20 springs fresh parsley
- 15 sprigs fresh thyme
- 20 sprigs fresh dill
- 1 head garlic, unpeeled, cut in half crosswise
- 2 T kosher salt
- 2 tsp whole black peppercorns

- 1 large can frozen Orange Juice
- 8 cups water
- 1 cup lemon juice
- 1 cup sugar
- lemon slices
- orange slices
- food coloring if desired
Smoked Salmon Dip

- 1 pkg. smoked salmon- 4-5 oz.
- 16 oz cream cheese
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 6 green onions chopped
- 1 tbsp. lemon juice- fresh
- 1 tsp. celery seed
- 1 tsp. garlic powder or 1 garlic clove
- 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
Chocolate-Caramel Supreme Pie

Crush pecan shortbread cookies and mix with 1/4 cup melted butter
- Cookie crumb crust:
- 1 1/2 c. crushed pecan shortbread cookies
- 1/4 c. melted butter
- Filling:
- 30 vanilla caramels
- 2 tbsp. butter
- 2 tbsp. water
- 1/2 c. pecans, toasted
- 6 oz. cream cheese, softened
- 1/3 c. powdered sugar
- 4 oz. sweet cooking chocolate
- 3 tbsp. hot water
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 c. whipping cream
- 2 tbsp. powdered sugar
