- 1/4 cup butter or margarine, melted
- 1 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 teaspoon grated lemon peel
- Dry ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon poppy seeds
- Topping
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice (brush on after baking)
